  • Can only be sent between 9 AM to 9 PM

Service Explicit SMS sent to customers who have explicitly opted-in to receive communications from the business. To provide necessary information or updates related to a service they have subscribed to (e.g., account information, support messages). “Hi John, your service subscription is successfully renewed. Amount charged: INR 500. Thank you for choosing our service.”
  • Can only be sent between 9 AM to 9 PM
  • Must include an option to opt-out (“STOP”)
  • Must not contain any promotional content
  • Should not be sent on Do Not Disturb (DND) numbers
Promotional SMS SMS sent to customers for marketing purposes to promote products, services, or offers and drive sales or engagement. To promote products, services, or offers and drive sales or engagement. “Flash Sale! Get 50% off on all items today only. Visit our store or shop online using coupon code SALE50.”
  • Can only be sent between 9 AM to 9 PM
  • Must include an option to opt-out (“STOP”)
  • Should not be sent on Do Not Disturb (DND) numbers
  • Must follow the defined frequency cap for sending promotional SMS
Transactional SMS SMS sent to customers to facilitate a transaction or provide information they have requested. To provide important information related to a transaction initiated by the customer (e.g., order confirmation, OTPs, booking details). “Your order #12345 has been confirmed. Estimated delivery date: 15th July. Thank you for shopping with us!”
  • Can be sent 24×7
  • Exemption from the National Do Not Call (NDNC) Registry for transactional messages
  • Must not contain any promotional content
  • Should not be sent on Do Not Disturb (DND) numbers
